Search: Long
After several months of dedication, a swimmer has finally completed what he described as a ‘long and difficult search’ and found the information he was looking for on the new British Swimming website.
Looking visibly shaken and physically drained, the swimmer, who has asked to remain anonymous, gave details of his endeavour to The Wobbly Block.
‘At first I was excited as I saw the new homepage load.’ he blearily recollected. ‘All the pretty colours, the nice pictures – it was all so much better than the old site’s retro, low-grade-GCSE-project aesthetic.’
Tears began to roll down the swimmer’s weary cheeks as he recounted what happened next. ‘All I was doing was searching for the dates of some competitions. Suddenly I was lost. For weeks I searched. Doubts began to surface. Was it the ASA site I wanted? What was the Institute of Swimming? What’s with the duck? It all became too much. I don’t know how long I searched for. Maybe weeks? Maybe months? On the plus side I did find a guide on how to use something called “Frontpage 2000″ to build a swimming club website – and suggestions for why tall, thin men should wear baggy shorts when swimming.’
Eventually the unidentified male believes he found what he was actually looking for originally, but in the absence of independent verifiable evidence this claim remains unsubstantiated.
The Wobbly Block attempted to email British Swimming for their response, but could not find the relevant contact details on the website.
